“Our aim is to support disadvantaged children and young people. When there is a complete lack of help, when public assistance is ineffective or exhausted, we are there to help. Quickly and without complications.
Since the foundation of the association, we have collected more than 500,000 euros for children and young people. We are proud of almost 1,000 members and half a million (!) euros that we have passed on 1:1 to children (both figures as of January 2021).
Again and again we are asked why the association is named as such. Why we don't have a "normal" name. Of course there is a story about how it all started and where the unusual name comes from. You can read about it on our homepage (www.hup-verein.de).
A child needs tutoring, swimming lessons or something similar? The new school bag, the stay at a country school or the participation in a holiday camp are beyond the budget? Actually, there is not just one thing missing? Then we can help. Unbureaucratically and quickly, and even when all other agencies (job centre, social welfare office, etc.) won't help.
With the school bag campaign, every year around 150-200 (and rising) children and young people who start school or transfer to a secondary school receive a new school bag from us. At Christmas, we give out vouchers for Christmas presents and put up a wish tree. But we also participate in the financing of large projects such as the purchase of a disabled companion dog or a car that has been converted for disabled people. „
